Tutorials ::: - Using
images in your wallpaper |
| Know the generic
desktop |
| The first thing that you should know is
that most people have their icons on left side of the screen. Taking this into account,
most wallpapers should have characters placed either towards the center or to the right of
the image, otherwise no one will be able to truly appreciate your hard work :) |

|
| Constructing the
background |
| Choosing the right colors to use in the
background is very important. Every color has a meaning in itself. For example, red can
mean war or anger, pink mean love, and dark colors represent sadness. (In general though,
you should use bright colors for happy pictures and dark colors for sad pictures.) Knowing
how your audience will react when they look at a particular color scheme is not easy. You
should try to take your own feelings into account when choosing the "correct"
color scheme. Remember not to use colors that are too bright (such as bright yellow)! This
will make the desktop hard to look at! No one will want to use a wallpaper that hurts
their eyes! ;) |

Adding effects to the wallpaper |
| Use your imagination, try to put some
F/X on the wallpaper (this is a complicated subject, look for photoshop or drawing
tutorials on the internet if you want to perfect your drawing skills.) Try not to leave
any empty areas in your wallpaper add some extra character pictures if possible, and
remember not to put too many special effects or add too many extra images, this will not
make your wallpaper look nice. |
